196  Corporation General Talk / Bounty hunting / Re: ITO on: March 24, 2014, 01:19:59 AM
Well fist off, I think Jam is perfectly right to point out that there are big differences in the make up and vigor of the various corps and I would agree that because of these there is a certain growth curve and potential. And a one man army has only so much time and can only be in maybe three or four places at once lol.

As to IMG's 'slump' I think Jam has his own perspective and from my talks with him it may be skewed but I think he tries to be objective. I don't think he's 'ragging' on anybody here.

I haven't been paying attention to IMG or any other corps growth rate but I know that our ship power was at about 5mil or less when Jazz left. Fenix had already left and made his own corp for RL reasons and we were left with myself, FreezeLove, Cornedo, and two inactive players- Jazzbob who I've still not let go of(ship pwr1.7mil)and XenGuard.

Well Xen is on now and then so he's semi-active but since then we've recruited four other players that have been active daily and one that has been inactive bringing us to a 70-80% active player corp. This and this thing called teamwork and working together to build new players' ships and corp com ships has brought us up over 11mil ship power and our treasury grows faster as we get more players and ships.

So I think that from this perspective Jam is mostly correct that IMG and SSS aren't corps in the sense of being a team and that there is only so much groth potential one player can muster. I mean Raph can play all day 6mo. but if we get 20 active players and maintain a tight team we might still eventually overtake him.

Other than that all the bickering is just that. You guys are all good guys and leaders and I know this about Jam better than any other. I think you guys just need to chill and see each others point of view- including Jam lol. I think IMG/Dadds and Sargas are all good players and have good strong corps I would proudly assist and work with just as I would TGE but I can't exactly fault Jam's assessment either other than being the critical guy he is and seeing faults and calling them as he perceives them.

As to Mata's comment about the splintering of PMI I think we need to understand how much of that is misunderstandings, over-reacting, differences of opinion, etc. It happens. And sure Jam's faults as a leader and communicator may contribute but we all have some of those. I think it's not always enough to be a good leader when people are stubborn or misinformed or just have a difference of opinion or some other issue outside his control.

2.  Chill out, dude..."persistent annoying",  the GC is in trouble and needs help for it's survival...

The way I see it, the GC needs a revival. It's pretty dead right now.  1

All the GC needs is what we call a 'ringer' and maybe to take in some new active corps. 16 That and for Dadds to be his corp's rep lol.
198  General Talk / News & Strategy / Re: The Galactic News Network report 03/15/2014 on: March 21, 2014, 01:23:41 AM
Yes and no, Raph. It's useless in the sense of it being gutted 'officially' but the corps that were part of it, including TGE and ITO can still work together for the same or similar goals etc. so it lives on in spirit.

I would however support a new sort of alliance among the active corps.
199  Corporation General Talk / Bounty hunting / Re: ITO on: March 21, 2014, 01:18:57 AM
Careful there, Admiral 'Fancy Pants'. We're not only growing, but our influence extends more throughout the game every day; much like the stench of your ships or in-game notoriety for being jealous of ITO.  14

The truth is we don't expose our ships all that much and are not concerned with your petty and feeble assaults but should that change we can do much more with our 8 active players and ships than simply assault you in futility.

The most ridiculous part is that players would have to be pretty dense to rat on ITO to you. They would get far more by joining or just being allies than they would being your snitch. We're still accepting new players and growing daily with a large pool of collective experience and resources. We're doing so well I just lowered our corp tax rate.
200  Info Terminal / Add-on projects in progress / Re: SOL training missions in the corp board on: March 13, 2014, 02:03:30 PM
Awesome! I think that could really help fill the gap between the SEA course and the finer points corp leaders spend so much time coaching newbies about.

Perhaps it will mitigate some of the confusion that  arises on occasion from some things being counter-intuitive (like more weapons not necessarily meaning you will better win combat missions) or navigating without getting lost, and wondering what's with the starmap etc.

201  Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / Corp COM Reports on: March 12, 2014, 03:53:20 PM
Our newest member was doing a combat mission and alluded to not knowing if I as corp leader would be able to see the outcome and battle report. I think this would be a nice feature.

A corp combat reports section where members can view details from all combat engagements, both PvP and NPC; at least the ones involving corp ships. This could be in the existing 'reports' section, ora  new tab in 'corp' and we could perhaps have an option for players to make the reports from their personal ship engagements available to the corp.
202  Corporation General Talk / Corporation Stance / Re: ITO Stance @ Raph on: March 09, 2014, 10:59:18 PM
Yes, I know you have to say that to not look like a clown for being jealous of my exclusive team and our witty banter you so long to be part of to escape the boredom.

203  Corporation General Talk / Corporation Stance / ITO Stance @ Raph on: March 09, 2014, 12:07:28 PM
Grand Admiral "Fancy-Pants" Raphael can choke on his childish nonsense. ITO's official stance is that he should be chemically and physically castrated to ensure there aren't more of these critters running around nibbling our ankles.

And no Raph, I'm not going to let you join ITO no matter how many times you beg or attack us. I know you hate having nobody to talk to in your corp board and want some company, but punks aren't allowed here.

Edit:Anyone that thinks this is abusive or insulting,- lighten up. It's a taunt, and not meant to be serious, abusive, or insulting.
204  Info Terminal / Add-on projects in progress / Re: Astro Galaxy and Bitcoin rewards system on: March 07, 2014, 10:43:13 PM
I second Mata's suggestion especially in regards to points 2, 4 and 5.

I think this is a great idea and applicatioin of the technology.  Other than that it kinda makes me wish I waited to invite ITO's newest member to the game  laugh

As a side note I do expect to see more 'commotion' from government, banking and private institutions(exchanges) as allowing bitcoin to go on independently threatens the Federal Reserve's ability to print money out of nowhere to buy bombs with. If it gets big enough and they can't turn it into a system where they control the (global digital)currency, they will outlaw it or something to maintain control.

But hey, as long we're not putting our life savings into it I say go for it and see what happens.

I also play for the same reasons as Mata, and so I want to see Astro-Galaxy blossom. Looking at some other games, and how the rewards system appeals to players I think that to really get more active players in addition to improvements already outlined, recognise that (in general) people stay interested more when there are small, but frequent rewards(or in this case updates) as opposed to having nothing for a long time and then lots of rewards. Keep that strategy in mind during the game's development and it might help retain people's interest.
205  Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / Re: revamping wormhole detector on: February 18, 2014, 05:55:38 PM
It's important to speak concisely unless you want people to have no idea what you're saying (and laugh at you every time you speak)lol.

I think it would be great to add some features to the WHD though, and any of those would be good.
206  Feedback Terminal / Suggestions / Re: revamping wormhole detector on: February 18, 2014, 05:46:26 PM
The game can get a boot in PVP. It need to revamped the wormhole detector function.  At this time it only give you little details. Just coming and going at your location. I like able get more information.
1. Name of caption of the ship and corp.
2. Heading of the ship. ( by the lvl of the detector )
3. Able to triangle enemy ship. ( by ships or planets listening post )

With this new upgrade.  I in vision your can track your enemy  after a attacks on you or able setup a campaign to attack your enemy ships. I think this will be more fun to able to search and destroy.  At this time you only come across a ship doing com.

Not a bad suggestion. For those that might have trouble making sense of his statement(triangle enemy ships lol) I offer the following attempted translation:

The game can get a boost in PVP. It needs the revamped wormhole detector function revamped.  At this time it only gives you little details. Just coming and going at your location. I'd like to be able to get more information.
1. Name of caption of the ship and corp and ship captain.
2. Heading of the ship. ( by the lvl of the detector )
3. Able to triangle enemy ship. Ability to triangulate enemy ships location( by ships or planets listening post )

With this new upgrade.  I in envision your can tracking your enemy  after a attacks on you or enable you to set up a campaign to attack your the enemy's ships. I think this will be more fun to enable us to search and destroy.  At this time you only come across a ship doing com.

208  General Talk / News & Strategy / Re: Jam-Jul Lison vendetta on: February 11, 2014, 12:00:36 AM
Of course you don't care why we attacked a single inactive player, you just want to equate it with another player's(Jam's) entirely different, targeted, deliberate, systematic actions. I don't care why you ignore the facts and conflate the two to justify your own- it's still absurd.

As ITO's leader, I'm personally fairly indifferent towards Jam's mission either way and as a corp we each have our own opinions which I am open to in forming our policies. Our own 'policy' is to not start trouble, and I would say that attacking an inactive player should not be regarded as starting trouble.

Whether or not it's nice, necessary, runs off people that aren't active etc. is irrelevant. The fact of the matter is it's his choice how he plays the game and thus if he want's to go for easy, inactive targets for whatever reason it's really none of my business or by extension, that of ITO as we are not his boss/policymakers at TGE.

The same goes for  you, Raph. I'm not going to tell you not to  be a pirate. It's not my business. If you  make things difficult or become a nuissance then it might be my business to ask you to not  be a jerk etc. But other than that, what you do is not my concern, and neither is what Jam does.

Do I think maybe it would be nice for him to at least shoot off a PM to each player saying "I'm going after inactive players which you appear to be, sorry for your loss, it's nothing personal."? Yeah that would be nice of him, but it's his choice. I'm not going to tell him what to do or criticize him for doing what he does because it's soley his business if he would rather not waste time doing that. Now if it becomes a nuissance to ITO or newbs etc., then I might jump in and say  "Hey Jam, you mind not making things difficult for...." but as yet I'm not aware of these actions really being a problem for anyone but you Raph, and only because it gives you an excuse to be  adversarial.

As far as scaring off newbs goes I agree with Jam- if you're going to quit because you walked away and subsequently got hosed, then that's your problem. When a boxer walks off, he forfeits the match. It's not anybody else's fault, no matter who intimidated him, beat him previously, stole his lucky shorts etc. When you start playing a game like this you should expect inactivity to be rewarded with a good thrashing. If you are the kind of sore loser that runs off like a little girl then you probably will just take the fun out of it for the rest of us and so I say good riddance to such flakes, quitters, losers, and wanna-be captains.

Furthermore, Goodperson has over 8mil power which is more than all of ITO, so my actions should have absolutely ZERO effect on newbs and any attempt to paint it otherwise is laughable in my opinion.
209  General Talk / News & Strategy / Re: Jam-Jul Lison vendetta on: February 09, 2014, 02:23:42 AM
Raph, you equate your setting about a mission to hunt inactive enemies to Jam's mission to get rid of clutter, and our peripherally spotting some inactive player stations in our rounds and taking them down for the spoils.

They are three different things. I somehow doubt you are so thick as to not grasp this. Do whatever you're going to do but for crying out loud don't equate apples to oranges. Comparing them is bad enough.
210  General Talk / News & Strategy / Re: Jam-Jul Lison vendetta on: February 07, 2014, 05:37:55 PM
It's interesting to know that ITO is involved in this.  1

They aren't really doing the Cleansing. Mostly I think getting some left overs from inactive guys for themselves.  I can't blame them. No sense in letting that stuff go to waste.

^This. He was inactive and when we found it so I didn't see any reason not to have at it and test our combat vessels. It's not part of any systematic thing like Jam is doing.
