ok, a wager...

for the first to respond only (before the match)...
I bet USA will beat BEL...10QP for 15QP...

This bet means that if Belgium beats the USA, I give you 15QP
and when the USA beats Belgium, y'all give me 10QP...

It indeed was good. Could've gone either way.

Thanks for the 15 QPs.  :)

Wanna bet some more?

Hold on... Belgians play soccer? That's not fair. They should be disqualified for eating performance ennhancing waffles. Everybody knows Belgian waffles give you super speed.

And now I am given an insult from 'he who shall not be insulted'  :))

If the USA doesn't play soccer, why does FIFA rank us 13th and AUS 62nd in the world?

Before you even start to 'diss' the Yanks, please show me how the Socceroos are better.

USA vs AUS head to head:  http://www.11v11.com/teams/usa/tab/opposingTeams/opposition/Australia (http://www.11v11.com/teams/usa/tab/opposingTeams/opposition/Australia)

WAGER CLOSED

and ok, a wager for my pal Dadds.

I bet 25QP on Germany against the field (and for another 10QP, I bet that they will play Argentina in the final).

Sadly, this wager is only open to my Australian friend.

If anyone else has a wager, please post it here and maybe someone will pick it up...

(edit to state that this wager closes at the start of (kick-off, as it were) the France/Germany match at 09:00 PDT on the Fourth of July, 2014 (http://<img src="http://smileys.emoticonsonly.com/emoticons/f/fireworks-1678.gif" border="0" alt="Fireworks" title = "Fireworks emoticon" />))

(re-edit to show that the wager is no longer valid)

There was a restaurant (a 'pancake-house') here in Oregon that advertised they will not serve 'Belgian waffles' (a lot of people went there for a late lunch to watch the match)...

DING!!!

and with the ringing of the 'time-bell', the previous wager with Dadds is closed as not accepted in time.

(edit - ...After all, you cannot bet on a horse after he has left the gate...   ...If anyone has a wager, post it here...)

Was that pancake house international?

ok, right now, for the first to respond, I bet that Germany will defeat Argentina in the final (10QP)

I also bet that Germany will win it all (25QP)

both bets must be accepted no later than the 13:00 PDT kickoff between Germany/Brasil on July 8, 2014...

FIFA has its own magical numbers which doesnt actually have any value in real life. sorta like solari lol (actually, i rate solari higher than a FIFA number)
Oh, and gambling is not in anyone's interest, especially if you keep losing lol

1 This is the same 'level of insult' that has caused you to draw sword.  My country is called USA, or U.S.A., or America, but not U.S.of A  -  (I would have accepted U.S. of A. but not U.S. of A).

2I have to admit that I don't understand how they figure the rankings out, but you still haven't responded to the 'head-to-head' question.

3Please name who you are quoting.

What paper do you read with your morning cuppa?  And, do you read a real printed newspaper or the electronic equivalent?

I read the 'Oregonian'...

(...and the Onion...)

(edit because -   oop's, look up there ^ Dadds)

Title: Re: World Cup

I read the onion's articles that they share on Facebook. But in print I read USA Today and the New York Times (we get them free at my college).

And I watch Brian Williams online

Probably a good thing, dog racing isn't really legal in the U.S. anymore (only a couple of states...)

Right....hmmmmm so me missing a full stop in using an abbreviation is the same level of insult as calling my corp and myself as a whole and a person. OK so be it precious one. If you wish to get to pedantic over a full stop, and you wish to got to ohhh, how do i spell it? WAR!!!!!  did i get enough exclamation points there? too many? not enough? was it abbreviated correctly for you? Crikey. all the science we have in the world and yet they still cant grow an American with a brain.
What a joke you guys really are. Expect visitors shortly. Lay out the welcome mats, or barricade "ya'self" in. "Friend"
(BTW the list i refer to is my friends list, which i dont see you on, "friend" and if you dont recognize your own quotes after making them, then i dont feel i need to point them out to its originator either)

1  I'm sorry, but I do not understand what you mean by this sentence fragment:

Quote
from Dadds, see above
hmmmmm so me missing a full stop in using an abbreviation is the same level of insult as calling my corp and myself as a whole and a person.

2  Am I really that precious to you?   Should I expect a diamond watch for Christmas?  Please let me know what to expect, 'precious' and I will respond in kind.

3 If you would like, on your upcoming world tour, please visit me in Portland OR USA, I would truly enjoy meeting you.  (truly, all joking aside, I would like to meet you)  We can do Jeopardy (if you trust a Canadian to host).  (and I'll put a watermelon on the barbie , I did it here for our Independence Day and it was good).

4My exclusion from your 'Friend' list is your responsibility, not mine.  We were friends until you decided that I wasn't agreeing enough with you.   Is this why my friendship with Kristen ended?  Were YOU involved in that?

5I know precisely what I said, but nobody else really needs to go back and read a lot of crap because they need to read the quote that you are too lazy to reveal.  As you can see, the quotes I quote are responsibly attributed  to those who made them.

The thing is, as far as betting on sports is involved...

...to be fair and give all a chance to voice their opinions, futbol (soccer) is the worlds game...

Why would the UK (or anyone else) care about the 'World Series', or the 'Super Bowl'?

The only wagers I offer up will be events on the world stage - World Cup, or both Olympics...

...(maybe the Masters or Wimbleton, or...)...

(edit - y'all can offer up bets of your own)
