Title: Pirate Hijacking Squads
Post by: Rostin on May 22, 2014, 07:41:37 PM
Is it common for pirate squads that join up with hijacking missions to overpower the person doing the mission? I picked up a mission for ALH 53262 B1 and when I got there and talked to the crew to begin it put the odds at about 1:100. Did someone else have a COM mission at that location? Because I didn't see anyone else in orbit besides me and the hijackers but there was a pretty big discrepancy between my power and the power of the pirates...

I should note that there were two actual hijacked ships; does that mean that there was another COM in orbit as well?

did you check to see what's in orbit with you before talking to cargo?

it sounds as if you stumbled onto another hijacking mission that was already in progress.

2 hijacked ships usually means 2 different missions.

Ok, thanks, that's kind of what I thought. I ALWAYS forget to check before hand.. :/ Oh well, I hope whoever's it was comes back so I can finish eventually. lol

Rostin: It is a good habit to always check if someone is already doing a COM attack mission before starting a new one. I always do it. Due to your small size it is not a big deal for us big players but you will grow and it may become a problem (it could be a problem for a smaller player). Here at EOS, it is part of our NAP and not checking beforehand is consider an act of war.

Ok, thanks for letting me know :) I've got a couple other bad habits I'm trying to break to. Biggest one is jumping before I collect my reward.. XD

That depends on the player you signed the NAP with.  Sargas tried to get me to agree with me.  I didn't agree to that part since it is always possible that such a thing might accidentally happen.  I don't consider it an act of war to leave one there. But I do admit it is a bit rude.  I usually don't drop off them like that.

Yeah lisunken and I got our coms tangled like that a few times lol. I still forget to check sometimes.

Another thing to remember not to do- accept multiple coms on the same planet, then activate them both. I mean you can do it that way if you like a 'mexican stand-off' but it's not as fun as it sounds :D One of our former members did that before leaving lol.

When I have more than 1 COM at the same location I always do those together. It give more profit for a not so different timer. I presently have a battle against 20 ennemy ships. Sure I can modulate my power, my ships have 16 mil att and 14 mil def. And I have spare shields at earth that I can send via a Scout where needed.

Yes but you're the man Mata lol. For those of us that don't have another ship in the area etc. you can have a pretty hard time fighting two coms at once. As rookie mistakes go I think it's one of those that can be pretty aggravating.

When did this take place, FreezeLove?  I need to know the time frame to see if EoS needs to talk to him again.

If it occurred after a certain date, more serious actions will need to be implemented.

I've got a COM there too, so I'm glad I checked orbit this time or else that would have really sucked for you Freeze  :wow:

Not a shock out of him. lol.  You should have contacted me freeze.  Maybe I could have got a ship over there and finished it for you.  I did the same for ITO recently. There was an issue of one of his men giving him problems forcing him to boot the guy out. Unfortunately he didn't know that the guy had with one of their corp ships started 2 COMs at a single location.  When I found out I offered my help in dealing with it. I took my closest COM ship there and finished hit for him so he could go ahead and get the rewards.

It happened last night Sargas, but its all good.:19: I was close to beating the odds, in that case Jam it was probably quicker to have 2 attempts at it then to have waited for ya lol.

I told him to look before taking a mission to be sure to not interfer with others.

You never know though. lol. I got my COM ships spread out through out the galaxy. So getting one there shouldn't have been too difficult. If you ever need help with something like that just let me know. I'll be happy to help.

We both did, that's why I would like to have the time point.

please stand down JJL.  This is a matter for the EoS to deal with.  Do Not Offer Your Forces Against Any EoS Citizen!  If any one has any kind of issue with a citizen of the Empire, bring it to me.

Is it "all good" when you had to publish it?

And why were you talking to TGE when it was only an EoS pilot involved?  What made you think TGE could help you if EoS couldn't?

Why even think of them in the first place?

If I am not made aware of any discretions by the Imperial Citizens (or if Director Mata is not made aware), there is nothing I can do.

If I (and/or Director Mata) am not made aware of any issues regarding the Imperial Citizens, then there are no issues to be resolved.

...RESPECT, find out what it means to me...

And again JJ, keep out of this...

Sargas chill out.  I am not even saying I am going to go after your guys. I am just offering to help finish off multiple COM missions that smaller players might accidentally run in to. Either by ones they set up themselves or by someone dumping them on them.

ok, I can accept that.  It just sounded like you were offering up one of your 'little lessons'

lol

I wouldn't do that to you Sargas. We have a NAP. Also hitting the person who sets up the missions wouldn't solve the problem. The problem is the COM missions themselves. Considering most of us have been in the same situation, I know how much it can suck. Especially when your a smaller player.

Oh, I understand now.  It was just sounded differently.

Would a COM I have for a pirate's nest join up with Matamaure's pirate hijackers if I activated it in the same orbit?

A nest mission will not interfere with a hijacking, and vice-versa.
