Title: forming a corporation
Post by: Tony2x on September 24, 2012, 06:06:23 PM
Some of us in this game have been discussing forming a corp
we see some problems
We need a chat system
We need a way to trade between ourselves...
...more to come.

Every corp has a board where you can post. We have some plans to develop corp com channels like public, for war tactics etc. for the future.

For trading, the stations have a docking setting to allow corporation members to dock. The rest is done with sell order.

For example if you want to supply your corp members with Fuel Cells from a station, you put let's say 500 m3 fuel in the cargo bay, set the docking to corporation and then set a station sell order for 500 m3 or 9999 fuel cells and the station will sell depending on how much fuel is available in it's cargo bay, whenever a corp member docks.

You can also use the auto-unload function if you have mining facilities on the ground, then just convert into fuel remotely to keep the station supplying fuel cells.

When the auction system comes, will there be a way to 'sell' modules to fellow corporation members? Because that would be very helpful, why would let everyone invent the wheel, eh.

You will be able to sell modules on auction, but you will probably not be able to transfer stuff from one account to the other directly, not without compensation. This to discourage multi-accounts and farming.

But you will probably be able to create an auction with buyout as the default module cost, and make it only for corp members.

You mean to say, that is not strictly forbidden already? I ask because multi-accounts tend to completely ruin any game, whether it be a free MMO or a paid-for one. Since voting is locked to IP, shouldn't the whole registration be locked to a single IP, aswell?

You can only have one account yes, but as you know that rule is hard to enforce. We do all we can.

Limiting accounts by IP is not a good idea, it could block a whole school or family to play. I have experience with this sort of thing, and Astro Galaxy was designed in such a way to limit / restrict the multi-account issue. The trades will always be an exchange of solars vs. resources / modules / ships and the markups will be set by market value on public auction, making it hard for someone to transfer solars from one account to another.
