the reactors power the ship for jumps and energy. :)

I believe the power source for the engines are part of the engine module to begin with.

All I see reactors doing is taking up module space for redundancy.

 they power the intier ship its on depending on its level higher the level the stronger it gets

I think what he means is a module that would lessen the fuel consumption for jumps.  :)

That make sense for long travel between start cluster and searching .
you know how fast the fuel get consumed.

Well we have engines specialist and scout ships that have lower fuel consumption.

Maybe the aliens would have some special module for that...
