Astro Galaxy - a realistic space exploration game

So what other games do you play besides Astro Galaxy.

For me it is

 MineCraft
 Dwarf Fortress
 any good RPG Dragon Age Mass Effect Diablo1-2

and various pen and paper RPG with friends

At the moment only

Minecraft (3/3 so far it seems)
Soccerstar and soccermanager (both browser-based)

I hope to find time to play Torchlight one of these days, and I sometimes play Heroes3 at work, if I have nothing else to do.

Well, my laptop broke a few years back so I got an Ipad 2 as a replacement. Unfortunately, this restricts me only to text-based games (which I don't mind - often those are the best anyway). But these are the text-based games I play, other than Astro Galaxy, of course:

Once, a long time ago I played Civilization...on my comp. But that was along, long time ago.

Ahh the Civilization games. A great game series.  Though I prefer Ages of Empires. lol

the problem is I only have a notebook with 1.5 Ghz CPU
I can only play some old games xD
Even for civ IV, I still got lots of lag and can't load some fan-made modules

I know the feeling. My PC isn't exactly new either. lol.

Other games?!?!? What are those lol...I spend far to much time here already...

I used to play Pirate Quest (still have an account am slowly building it up more to sell for RL $$)
used to play Grepolis but I spend enough time here to spend time there to... a few other similar games as well but I like to focus on 1 at a time...and AG is great for being crazy online when I can...and also when I cant get online I can pop on for a min with my phone to make jumps etc.

I play Fatecraft: the therian saga (a very nice free online RPG game developped in Québec Canada. The game is in french.)

I would like to go ahead and say I now also play Space Odyssey lol

Transcendence is a great space exploration/trading/pirating game with tons of mods(on a site called xelerus)

The above screenshot is a pic of Transcendence running a mod I made(the big ship in the center is mine-  used a stock graphic) and the small beige ships are enemies I hit with my zombie mod weapon, making them my wingmen lol. In the upper right if you look close you'll see the ship they're targeting(beneath the weapon effects). The weapon effect I designed myself too. In the upper left you'll notice my 5GW rector(in 'vanilla' 1GW is max) It's broken with the latest version so I need to update it or get someone else to. FYI the mods are done in xml and I made mine in notepad mostly.

Not sure if its cool posting another game in a current game forums. Just call me old fashioned i guess (read honorable)

That's what the topic is about Dadds. Nothing dishonorable about sharing another game. If I were the creator of the game then maybe it would be.

- Final Fantasy VII - the best j-rpg (and rpg at all) ever made - I first played on Playstation, now I have it always in my smartphone and I'll be playing this game forever (just like Astro Galaxy :) or until the Sun blow away our electricity ;)

- Vagrant Story - dungeon rpg (Playstation) - awesome game offering massive amount of gameplay hours - as well in my smartphone until the Sun blah blah blah ;)

- SMITE - MOBA - similiar to League of Legends but 3D and much better IMO

- Shakes & Fidget - browser rpg - funny, comic game, not too complicated ;)

- Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Phantoms - shooter game like Counter Strike but with much better graphics and more realistic IMO

- Civilization series - awesome game indeed

- Command & Conquer (all of them) - RTS

- Borderlands - if my brother let me use His pc, because my laptop can't hold it :)

- Dead Island - Zombie slasher/FPP - made by Techland Wrocław from my country :) - awesome graphics and physics

- Minecraft - yes that's a good game :)

- Star Wars - some are better some are not

- Microsoft Flight Simulator - oh yes, I love to fly ;D

Haha to be honest, there are whole lot of other games that I used to play or I play from time to time :)

Now that You reminded me, how could I forgot to mention these:

- Alpha Centauri - an old strategy, something like Civ and Astro Galaxy combined together. Non-online. (Actually it is not like AG but somehow space-based. Sorry for confussion ;)
- X3: Terran Conflict and Evochron Mercenary - just check these out! And try playing with joystick or some better flight sim tools :)

I still play Alpha Centauri from time to time as well as other Sid Meier games.

FF has too many installments for me to even THINK about trying out. I feel like I would need to play the entire series (that's just who I am...)

I may say that there should be no need to first play other FF games, they are not actually connected in any really important way :) FFVII was the first FF that I played. After realizing how awesome it is I of course tried other FF games :) But FFVII is the best of all for sure :)

I felt FFX story was fantastic, and should be near FFVII as greatest of the series to date. I have played FF I, II, IV, V, VII, VIIII, X, X2, XII, XIII. Im interested in there new installment and so far the graphics look great, but what makes a FF game great for me is there story and its been awhile. :)

True that all FF storylines are probably most valuable aspects of this game. Nice that You also are FF player, Freeze :)
What I like most in FFVII is its materia system :D

And "Gardens" of FF VIII is another awesome idea  :)

I love the Final Fantasy games. FF VII was the one I played most, but FF II and FFIII would have to be my all time favorites. Kafka - best video game villain of all time, for sure.  :12:

Star Wars Combine, a very complicated space game that took me a year to grasp just the basics.
Cyber Nations, a nation simulation game.
Itsagoal.com, a football management game.
Cantr II, a roleplaying game.
Chess.com, a chess website!
Planetarium Footstar, a game where you are a pro footballer.

I've played many of the FF games, first one I played was FF 8, it still holds a certain place in my heart as my favorite. The story has gotten better with time as I've gotten older and actually appreciate a good love story xD. Some FF folks kinda hate me for saying this but... honestly I think FF7 was overrated, the story wasn't bad at all it was actually quite good just the mechanics weren't anything that great.

Other games I've played would include some great and classic rpgs like Legend of Dragoon, Grandia (1,2 and 3), Diablo 2, Digimon World (2 and 3 as well as the DS games) and of course Starcraft and Brood War. Also enjoyed the dot Hack series on the PS2, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. Some web games I've played are Unification Wars, Dark Orbit, Epic War Saga, Alien AA(Adoption Agency) and like a hundred that I can't even remember or thought were complete crap.

Some more recent games I played and enjoyed were Xenoblade Chronicles (probably one of the top 5 or 10 best RPG's I've ever played) and the Monster Hunter series (I've played Tri and Tri Ultimate), Rune Factory 3 and 4, Etrian Oddyssey Untold: The Millenium Girl as well as Fantasy Life.

I really like to look at the more obscure games as I've found that major productions have gotten worse and worse over the years. The focus on graphics has driven up the price to produce competative games on the consoles to the point where all that those dam companies make is clones and recycled ideas.

There are many other games I've played, including one or two where I was a staff member but I think that is enough for one post lol.

Ah, and anybody tried Mount and Blade: Warband or SWTOR?

A new game coming out in 2015 that caught my eye is No Mans Sky. The fact that theres millions upon millions of worlds to explore just tickles my fancy lol.

I had also been awaiting No Mans Sky after reading it in a PC Gamers magazine. Hopefully it isn't a disappointment. :D

Virgil/Irredrache got me interested in No Man's Sky :)) I'm actually subscribed to the newsletter. Looking forward to seeing what they put out!

And Madden, I have thought a lot about trying out Mount & Blade. I've got a friend here at school who is REALLY into it... And I play SWTOR from time to time along with my corp mate torh :)

Well, once you've finished Mount and Blade, it's no more fun unless you download more 'mods' from the internet. Mods are nice as they give you a new challenge. But Mount and Blade is fun when you play singleplayer, as it almost feels like you're playing against real peeps. Although I think multiplayer sucks.

I tried the fan-made reboot of Star Wars: Galaxies once upon a time, but it was pretty lousy... I just got an Xbox One for Christmas so I'm in pretty deep with that right now plus my usual games on Steam :)

Nah, Star Wars Combine is much different. Star Wars Galaxies has retired anyway.

In fact, SWC is a browser game, like AG. You don't buy/download it so you can try it right away.

LOL, I already asked the Albania's Lords councillors to take care of you. Now it is for you to decide if you like the game, it is pretty hard at start. The kind of support we can offer is food, clothing, free training... So, get to work LOL

I also forgot to mention in my previous post (which I think most people missed since it was the last post of the previous page and Madden posted like right after me) I've been playing quite a few idle games the last 6 months or so. It's nice to have a game up while I work on things and I only have to pay attention to it when I have a minute or two. I've been playing Clicker Heros quite a bit since August though my computer often frustrates me to no end when I have 15 minutes to actively play and I spend 10 of those minutes waiting for my computer to unfreeze.

I found another space game I have become hooked on.  One my laptop I just got can handle. Star Trek online lol.   It is surprisingly addictive.  I am still trying to make time for astro though lol

In fact I find Star Wars Combine quite an interesting game as well  :) I managed to accumulate fourteen million credits after a year of gameplay  :12: Mostly by scamming noobs, but I've also gained some clean money from my monthly salary working for Tresario. Even sponsored a space race before haha.

So I've been really bored lately and I was wondering to maybe start playing another game (just simple browser games like AG so that I can still play at work. LOL). Any suggestions? Preferably games that are less than one year old. :)

Have you tried Might & Magic Heroes Online? It is browser based, fast to download, free, fun. I am new to it and I like it so far.

I enjoyed playing Call of Duty Black Ops and Halo in my Xbox 360 but I sold it off because I additional pocket money to buy new truck rims (http://4wheelonline.com/TruckWheels.1180).  :D

Did any of you ever play "trading card" games like "Magic: the Gathering" back in the day? I used to play them with my kids when they were young. Some of the MtG developers apparently put together an online (and improved!) version that can actually be played fairly competitively for free. It's called "Eternal".
