I was attacking a pirate station that another player was also engaging because I wanted to finish it and start my own COM at that location (I've been patient but lisunken's 30 hours are up...) I waited like, two and a half hours for a looting attack and here is the ENTIRE battle report:
Attacker opened fire!

Wave 1 - Primary forces (Weapons & Boarding)

Wave 2 - Primary forces (Weapons flyby)

Wave 3 - Protected forces (Weapons & Boarding)

Osiris Vs. planetary force
Weapons assault
Osiris maneuvers into fire range and attacks first.
Osiris attacks with Laser Cannon MK VII using standard mode.
Direct hit on target, doing 19148 damage!
planetary force has been defeated!

Rostin planetary force Vs. Pirate station
Ground assault
Pirate station sending Marines Assault Unit MK I to find a landing spot.
The landing party found an area and sabotaged it, doing 2490 damage!
Rostin planetary force has been defeated!
Science Lab Mk I was captured by the defender.

Objective: Destroy the Pirate station.
 
Attack failed!

My ship didn't even attack the station! Is this supposed to happen when another player is attacking as well?

You need to pull up your planetary forces first.  I posted something similar not to long ago that happened to me.

Rostin: if you had beaten the space station you would have taken lisunken's prize. I consider this also like an act of war. What you should have done instead of waiting is go do an other mission and come back later when lisunken is out of the way.

It is how I procede now. My 2 cents. (do not do to others what you do not want others to do to you :) )

Act of petty theft maybe.  But I wouldn't go as far to consider it an act of war lol. I have had people finish off my COMs and stuff for me.  Even had people take out the nest for me.  Only time it is annoying though is when I am actually needing the nest for fuel.  Otherwise it is no huge deal.  Still you are right about him asking lisunken about it. It would have been the right thing to do.

I was just going to weaken it so his time would go faster. I'm pretty sure he already looted it because it's armor had disappeared. I know what I'm doing Mata, I'm not gonna start any unnecessary hostilities because I don't feel like waiting.

And his ship keeps leaving orbit, so I see no reason to wait if he's not going to finish his COMs in a timely manner

you should be able to do both...

start your mission and his leavings will join the NPC mix...

and you can do them both at the same time...

...and as JJL said, scoop your planetary forces before finishing combat

Rostin, yes is over 30hrs but not all com done on time . When mission fell you get send to safe spot and start all over. That has happen and I has spend Q to speed it up. So I will not cause a log jam. I also email you that I has finished. Here is rule I use when doing Com.

1. Alway look before start a com ( yes yes I sorry if cause anyone a problem in the begin.)
2. If someone start Com, email that personal ask for duration of time. (Which you did)
3. Wait for email before start your. ( which you did not) tip don't sit there go and find another com. When received email then go back start your. As player growth time go up on com. I start getting 30 to 60 hrs on some of my ship. It may no sense to park your ship and wait.

I did wait until you emailed me before I started mine. I didn't do anything to adversely affect your com so I don't know why you are even taking an interest in this thread. And this is the last pirate looter I am doing before this ship goes back to sol so I just wanted to get it done. You did not need to waste qp on speeding it up (if you did it for my sake) if you had just told me originally that you needed more time then I would have probably ended up leaving. I just thought 30 hours was fine since I spend more time working and sleeping now.

Sorry if I seem impatient. I know it's not your fault and I probably should have just left. Lol I am just tired of running into big players doing coms that take dozens of hours when I just want to do my little 5 hour ones and move on... :/

I tend to go to the 2nd ring or beyond when im doing my COMs, my odds on running into the big boys doing there missions are around 1%. Now that I said that ill eat my words lol someone please pass the salt.

Rostin, if it gets too bothersome in the future, tell me. There are easier and simpler ways to deal with things like this, especially with corps that we don't have a NAP with.  :butcher:

There is an expiry timer on unheld combat timers. Just not sure how long.
With regard to the thread though, which everyone is missing with Rostin's first query, is why didnt his guns fire in the first wave. Not sure we have all the information at hand other than the combat report. Were you powered down and weapons turned off perhaps?

No, I was full powered. I guess this is a problem JJ encountered some time back when you leave a planetary force it messes up the attack. :/

yeah you are right Rostin. i posted my thoughts late at night and didnt read through it as well as i could have done. its the wave 3 thing where only 1 v 1 item gets to shoot one time only.

Sir Emi, this absolutely NEEDS to be fixed in the next update. Please... This is the absolute dumbest thing in the game to wait HOURS for an attack that ends up shooting myself in the foot.

This screwed me over a week ago, too. Hopefully, it will be resolved. It's one of the only things left on the patch list!

Funny, that is not an issue with my COMs (I still have a few hundred mk 1 labs scattered around).
