Title: Hello
Post by: Tiberiusbaltar on August 05, 2017, 06:12:24 PM
Greetings. I'm Tiberiusbaltar very new to this game and just completed my graduation course. I'm looking forward to getting stuck into some exploration missions and bumping into some other captains along the way.

Thanks for the welcome. First question of many I'm guessing. I've entered a system with an unknown event. If I navigate to it is there a chance I will end up way out in the black with not enough fuel to return home?

yes,a very good chance to be stranded ,but this is a good time for you to see what is out there  :21:

if you need fuel to be able to come home, let the Empire know and we will help you.

In the meantime, learn what you can and remember that the Empire is always looking for a few good men.

yea you have a lot of space out ther to get lost in ...But get out ther and have fun take mining modules with you that way you have something to mind to convert to fuel....

Well I got out there 170 LYs away. And managed to get back home safe with a full crew and a little mined ore. The mechanics of the game make sense being able to fuel my ship for long range exploration is where my problem lies. Mining takes an eternity at the moment. Is it simply a case of time spent upgrading modules through science or is there another way of obtaining fuel?

On the navigation screen, you can send a distress signal and buy fuel from the ship that comes to your rescue. That's very expensive though, you'll often end up paying 3, 4 or even 5 times the Sol price.
