Deposit sequential numbering: MySQL just adds 1 to the last id number added. Since the last id number added was from when I was a member of SPQNR, that was the starting point. You will see that my numbers will not be unique viz a viz NB. I might have a 55678 and NB might have a 55678 and they will refer to different finds. I will increase my increment by 10,000 tonight to make things easier.

NB

The page looks similar to make it easy for people familiar with your page to use. The underlying HTML is different.

The PHP code is completely new as I never had access to any of your PHP.

The column layout and headings are similar because the data is designed to go into the same database.

It is 10 minutes work to change the HTML layout if thats what you want. I may put it into a template that is responsive/mobile friendly.

Regarding commissions, I am not so concerned with payments as you - I am happy for most deposits to be free, as long as users do mark them as sold to stop confusion.

Developing the page took less than an hour from scratch, so I don't understand what the fuss is about.

This is not a clone of your list - the data is completely new and the interface is substantially different. This is merely an alternative, open to everyone and not just SPQNR.

Cheers

Hi Bogey

I am sorry I dropped extra coms on you - I did not check before I landed, and I dropped all I had been saving up for that planet which is why there are so many.

I can give you an equivalent com if you want as compensation - just tell me the power you want to fight at and I'll send one over on our "Merchant" account.

Cheers

To all AG players - new and old:

I am a business man - a space business man.

I have been playing this game for what seems like a long time but that does not compare to the time some have invested here.

I had the good fortune to join a corp that has set me up for AG life.

I would like to see this universe continue, in some form or another, with enhancements and more players.

I have been in negotiations with Sir Emi (Emilian) for some time, along with some of my SPQNR friends, regarding providing capital towards software development for this game.

At the moment, negotiations are stalled over price and terms but there is a deal on the table.

I invite investors and programmers to contact me learn about this deal and what it would mean.

The group so far has some financial committments and some programming(php/python/js) skills. Emilian has committed to a smooth handover and enhancements as part of the deal.

We need some marketing ideas to bring new players to this well-balanced game.

If we do not do something, the SOL cluster will eventually be filled with 1,2 and 3 planet stabilised systems, with owners doing coms and buying an ever diminishing number of PTs.

In short, it will die.

I put it to you all - long time players and noobs alike - the total investment of time in this game has been immense and stands to evaporate. Join us and form an investment group to buy AG from Emilian and develop it further for the next 20 years.

Do you want a new instance - to start again and use what you have learned?

Would you like more clusters?

How would planet destroyers go down when you find yourself hemmed in?

What about a better user interface?

Some video = some enhanced reality features?

Leather upholstery in your scout, HUD and what about a real market economy, where prices vary at every station?

Just putting it out there

Sincerely

[SPQNR] Stephanus Cancerius.

22  Info Terminal / Game Developer Apprenticeship / Re: What is the game developer apprenticeship and how to apply on: October 20, 2018, 10:42:52 AM
OK, so I have been coding PHP and JS for the last 10 years. Done most things but dont know beanstalk or storm. Have worked extensively with jquery, comms, curl, frameworks, HTML (obviously).  Run wamp personally instead of xamp.

My interest? Take a working, breathing, finely tuned and playable system and enhance it, extend it and then market the crap out of it.

Biggest problem I see? Few users and limited graphics. Needs more oomph! But I love it.

Biggest asset I see - all the long term users and the old user base - who would have all the ideas in the world (universe).

Cheers

SPQNR SOS 1 blind jumped (130 degree track from SOL) - 7 jumps, 75 LY away into deep space.
I emmerge next to a unknown event - a place even God never completed.
Avoiding it I see my first target, an SOS! Prador 1 has also blind jumped safely to Q 0,2. Now Prador 2 lunges into the darkness - rejoining humanity and the rest near Alderamin and Arcturus. SOS 1 finds a ship needing fuel - good - we have some - BUT NOT THAT MUCH! They are only offering $48 solars - I may get it to them later....
I materialize back in Prador 1 to oversee its first SOS pod and see what we have...I spend a bit of AP to get there quicker and find - an OUTBREAK! They are paying $132 for medicine - not much profit here. I move on again with AP assistance - another epidemic. At $120 - I dont care. Next one is $116 - its going down! Just die, all of you. I will wait the 25 mins for Prador 1 to arrive at the next SOS pod and go and check  on Prador 2. 31 minute wait to arrive. OK, what about SOS 1? Survivors in pods - thats what we want to see....Their ship got blown up by a malfunction in the engines and they need to get back to earth. $205k for 88 m3 of cargo space - deal! 2 minutes to the next pod. $71k for 448 m3 - OK, thats $158.
3 mins to next rendez vouz - 4.4k fuel left...Prador 1 is going to run out of fuel at this rate - very unprofitable mission from those guys...390 left when we get there - dont even know where SOL is. Nail biting stuff around Vega and Chara (please dont ask me for fuel). $49 for 58 m3, 5 mins to next deal - keep at it SOS 1. Prador 1 had to convert 30 m3 of diamonds to fuel - and those were earth diamonds, not lunas! Prador 2 bought a donut and spent an AP to get to the next stop. More fuel at $43. Another AP and looks like we'll be spending earth diamonds here too. How are we going to get home? SOS 1 is OK - we got a direction when we arrived and we just head back. But the Pradors must have a less effective navigation system - this will be a bit tricky. Prador 1 gets a transport - finally. $229 per m3 home. Nothng left - no fuel, no diamonds. SPQNR SOS 1 lying on its side on the beach. Natives moving closer. Yellow fever throughout. Only one hope remains...
24  Caffe / Whatever / Anyone still selling modules? on: October 14, 2018, 07:51:27 AM
As per Odlid's General Strategy at http://forum.astro-galaxy.com/index.php/topic,10037.0.html, he recommends posting here (well, on the "GCA for sale" thread but that is now over 2 months old and reviving that thread now is against he posting rules).

For a beginner who wants to do SOS missions he specifies buying "some ACB's = 50's or 100's".

Anyone interested in providing say 10 of each of these to start with who can also instruct me on how to complete the transfer of diamonds or QP?

Cheers

Hello World

I am SteveCrab and I am giving this reality a whirl.

Still full of enthusiasm and hope, not yet reduced to a bitter space hermit...

Happy to engage, open to deals or alliances or corps, but need to learn as much as possible quickly.

Cheers
