My income is with one ship, it is a Cruiser | Hull Class V | Wormhole shifter Mk X  Without VIP and any officer it does 12 LY IN 1 MIN 18 SEC. I go around the base cluster (full circle) picking missions in about 3 hrs (ring 3 & 4)

My SOS ship is constructed for SOS/PT hunting..
Cruiser | Hull Class V | Wormhole shifter Mk X
Scan range 21 LY and jumps in 49s, burning 1569 m3 Fuel Cells.
Got 800K cargo space
Has power to pick up COM's, just to keep a balance.

NoBrain: very similar ships: Cargo bay 300150 m3, Hangar bay: 752250 m3, fuel about the same.

Farther away from the SOL system, greater is the prize you are paid. 500k is in the 4 corner of the map. Gradually I encourage you to go further and further depending on the cargo capacity of your ship(s).

5 days in the game and you did COM?!? COM are only for the top 20 players with very powerful weapons and shields.
I'm not even close to be able to do them with 1/2M power ship. I heard that 50x RB MK100 is not enough to do COMs.
I never tried it myself. I don't even know how to do COM missions and what you need for them.

SpaceBird: You are welcome to scan my ships, so you can get a idea of ship build for COM missions..
My COM ships are manly Marines and Shields.. and weapons are a really bad choice, because they only fire once..
