Hello, my handle is Scuttles (as in Captain Scuttles: Benny Hill's alter-ego).

I'm been playing Astro Galaxy for about a month now.  I have a Class V ship working about 150 LY from Sol and a Class IV ship working around Sol (up to 20 LY) as well as three stations (one with trade enabled, but so far no trades), some Science Labs, some ATH and a bunch of MIF scattered around.  I'm out searching for rarer minerals and need to build a starliner to transport personnel from Earth out to my outpost.  I'm ready to move from SOL to a real corporation.

I was originally looking for an revival of an old game I use to play decades ago called Galactic Bloodshed.  Galactic Bloodshed was all text-based and had exploration, mining, trade and battles like Astro Galaxy, but also a few interesting aspects like terraforming and different species that flourished with different atmospheres.  Some species could co-exist on a planet easily (e.g. one in the sea and one on land) and some could not (e.g. land-based methane and oxygen breathers) as well as gradients in between (e.g. planets that support Species A and B at 70% each, but could be terraformed either direction to 100% but left the other species dead).  This allowed for some interesting dynamics during the game.

As for Astro Galaxy, I'm looking forward to explore the game mechanics as well as the exploration aspect.  I assume whacking Pirates is healthy, but haven't touched on the battle aspects of the game yet.

I have lots of questions (e.g. what do the star stability numbers tell you about the long-term health of the star; can "stable" wormholes cyclical with their end-points), but figure most will be understood over time; otherwise, I'll ask here in the forums.
