Question about Cargo bays.

Cargo Bay vs Advanced Cargo Bay - what better for long-term development?

Cargo Bay - need more research points, but less solars for build.
Advanced Cargo Bay - need less RP, but more solars for build.

So, my question to old players - any advices about cargo bays development? And what is more problem on middle game stage (and later) - solars or research points?

P.S. (yes, i know about build time, but this is another question...)

Yesterday I was attacked twice by mythiclord too. In Sol system (Moon).

First attack (mine loot):

Attacker mythiclord

Attacker opened fire!

Mythican 003 Vs. Korvin planetary force 

Weapons assault
Mythican 003 maneuvers into fire range and attacks first.
Mythican 003 attacks with Laser Cannon MK I using standard mode.
Light hit on target, doing 2280 damage!
Korvin planetary force has been defeated!
Mining facility Mk I was looted.
Module was empty. Nothing to loot!

Objective: Destroy 10% or more of the enemy while losing less % then the enemy.

Mythican 003 attacks with Laser Cannon MK I using standard mode.
Target dodged the incoming attack!

Mythican 003 attacks with Viper Squadron MK I using standard formation.
Excellent hit on target, doing 1860 damage!
EMERGENCY JUMP!
2_Missions has retreated from the battlefield due to heavy damage!
2_Missions lost some cargo while executing the emergency jump...
Mythican 003 searching for dumped cargo...
183 m3 Fuel Cells scooped into cargo bay.
