Please fix Com missions.

Com missions were the only thing i found fun in this game and with the recent changes you've made they now suck. Whereas i used to be able to conduct an attack,win, and get rewarded; nowadays i can attack and win but no reward. The past several Com missions i've conducted have all resulted in wins but no rewards. To get rewarded i have to attack two or three times with each attack taking 14-17 hours to complete.

Playing this game this way isn't worth my time.

Games that aren't enjoyable lose members and if you haven't noticed, you're losing yours Sir Emi.

Working on the next update, with ship optimizations and lots of improvements to battle reports:

- display mission objective in a mission battle
- result: Victory if objective complete, Attack failed if objective not complete.

Adding new com missions with different objectives.

In the current Com mission, the objective is to "Emergency jump" the pirate hijacker ship. If the ship is still standing, the attack failed.

At higher powers with increased rewards, the missions become more difficult. You'll need to specialize a lot, but it needs to be challenging. Maybe once the optimizations are in combined with carriers, it may get better with more options.

If you find that many of your missions result in a draw / attack failed, you'll need to power down / adjust your ship design or bring in additional ships.

I agree with Sir Emi. We need to overcome, adapt and develop to become competitive. Comms missions were a bit of a gravy boat before the dodge initiative that is for sure. Though personally, if i look over my combat logs since the dodge factor came into it, i think statistically the vessels i fight with 35% dodge is probably doing it closer to 50-60% of the time. I wonder if the maths need to be looked at with that one. Perhaps my statistical data isnt comprehensive since it takes so frikkin' long to do a mission count with big numbers lately LOL. Maybe over a larger sampling those numbers will average out to 35%. Time will tell. Bring on carrier vessels with multi-ship combat cooperation, and perhaps tweak the weapons specialisations to help combat the dodge factor, or even introduce say a combat computer module to help compete against the dodge factor (hint hint call it a targeting computer or whatever)

Another problem I can see for how it is now is that with the dodge and shots only being able to be fired once per battle instead of once per round, We will likely end up missing with most of our shots failing to make 1 ship jump, then be unable to fire on the remaining pirate ships that might show up in the battle.  The weapon firing system needs to at least be restored to what it used to be. Otherwise we might as well just turn all our ships into marine ships.

There are a few things the pirate ships have in store, one of them is a new module that I posted here:

The "Safety override" module will enable pirates to be even more deadly and create their own marine boarding ships.

The weapons have long range, marines are close and personal as they should be.
I studied the battle reports on Hijacker missions after the update, and it seems very balanced.

The com missions should be challenging but not hard to tackle with the right setup. That means you'll need to find the best setup to use on them. Now for weapons, a ship needs to specialize. Optimize your ship with "Improved weapons", and see how well your weapons do then. You'll need to find the best combination that works for missions. Marines are good, but they are also vulnerable against another boarding specialized ship, or against ships packing lots of weapons. That said, the pirates are working on their own boarding ship designs. They got shields / armor, different weapons, and marines on the way.

Obviously you haven't done as many COM missions as the rest of us have. With the constant dodging it isn't uncommon to use up 20-30 weapons on a single ship. Since we can only fire once per battle now instead of once a round, in these missions with multiple ships we are forced to go with close combat anyways.  Here is a COM report from last night I did.

This kind of dodging is very common on pretty much every single COM mission now. So even if they specialize in marines, with the extra dodging, you are better off just going with marines. You are already going to have to likely deal with all their weapons anyways and if you have good enough shields, you should be able to handle the marine assault on top of what ever weapon fire comes your way.  This is what COM missions are becoming reduced to.  A marine fest.  Good thing they are at least cheap to build. Still it kind of takes away from using any kind of strategy against them.  It also makes investing in actual weapons for COM use not the best idea.

Yeah for the most part with my latest ship I am not having much of a problem. But that is partially cause I have a decent amount of marines on there.

The new COM missions are OK, they are easier (better) than the previous ones. You need weapons that hits all the time. I have 8 high tech level marines on all my ships.

They are easier but more reliant on Marines. Which by the way at ML 50 hit better then MK 1 nukes. lol. I don't like how the battle ultimately comes down to relying on marines.

 I wouldn't give up on weapon systems other than marines yet; all my wins have been with a combination of railguns,lasers,and vipers... with the occasional low-yield nuke thrown in.... 1 I carry marines too but so far all they've had to do is play cards.....

The problem with nukes is if your using them for COMs, your wasting money needlessly. With what they cost to build and the fact they are disposable, they aren't very cost effective. Not to mention I like to keep my COM ships as long as I can lol. Besides my marines do more damage then the MK 1 nukes.  Here is my last COM mission.

Nukes work but dip too much into the profit. lol. I am going with a mix of regular weapons and a good amount of marines. BTW a mission just completed.
