Quantum bits. Every day you acquire 1 Qbit / minute. 1 Qbit can be used to speed up a task by 1 minute.

Maximum Qbits are 3000 for non-VIP. 10000 for VIP members.

Qbits can only be used to speed up tasks, nothing else.

Benefit:
+ New players get a bigger boost then veteran players.
+ Speeds up the development at start and slows down as you get more ships.
+ If playing just a bit each day, you don't miss much as you get to use all the Qbits in a burst of fun. Explore away.

Notes:
I'm still not sure what to call them, Quantum bits or turns or action points...

What do you thing? Good or bad? Suggestions.

Thanks.

Will new players get more faster? Or do you mean that, since new players have shorter timers to build and do COM missions, it will benefit new players more? I hope it would be the 2nd.

Will they be usable on travel timers? I hope yes.

Will they be convertable to QPs or solars?

I think this should be secondary to all of the stuff described in the November news thread, but I like the idea.

I like the idea, in fact any idea that reduce the waiting is great with me. It is true that it wont change much for us big players.

Decent idea. Just remember to include a bit about them in the tutorial. Otherwise newbies might still be a bit lost.

I vote for Quantum Particles... but then there will be QPs and QPs. So my second vote is Quantum Fragments.

And perhaps if you save up your QFs, you can put them together to make QPs!

The funny thing is I couldn't ever see any of us larger players using these. They might be useful for smaller players. Though when I was a small player anything under an hour really wasn't that bad of a wait.

Would you only acquire Quantum Bits when you are active and logged on? Or would you gain them even when you are offline?

Speak for yourself Jam, I'm gonna use these all the d**n time for jumps and stuff

The idea is that you'll get them regardless, so 1440 Quantum bits (QB) / day. So if you're a non-Vip and don't login for a few days, when you do get on you'll have 3000 QB to spend. Makes for some nice fun to do some fast missions / exploration / attacks. Some people will only have 30 min / day to play so that's the idea. It's meant for casual players and to help new players get more assets faster, have more stuff to do.

For Vip, you'll have 10000 QB max, so you could easily pass the week and play in bursts of fun during the weekend.

About 30 mins a day = check
Bursts of fun during weekend = check

I think the idea is to help out new players who might not have time to be very active... but I still agree. Don't want to punish active players for being active!
