Phoenix is for those players who like old games (the game began with s-mail about 20 years ago and has never been wiped), and who enjoy RPG and owning a lot of space ships, as well as politics, affiliations and much more. It has a fantastic player base, lots of wars and nothing to be bored about.
Meanwhile, Command Crisis looks like your average browser game, building buildings and conquering new places, but still you should check it out. There's a lot of opportunity to become one of the top players since the game does not have many active players, and I'm currently ranked 70th in the whole world after playing for just an hour. Also note that you do not need active players to succeed in the game, all you need is activity.
