I'm only in day 2 and it look like it'll take a few weeks at last.
I'm now in "Step 14: learn how to manage your ship personnel while in space".
It starting to get boring most of the time there's noting to do but just wait hours.

to play this game you need to be patient. You are close to the end of the tutorial. If I remember well, it has 22 steps.

At the end it took me 2 months if I remember right.
You get noting special at the end.

Not really. You just getting permission to use another license temporary BUT once you are buying a license it'll use the new license for the "free" ship, so you left with the same number of ships. |

I was thinking of finishing SEA when ships got to be $1billion solars per ship. They are "only" $144 million solars / ship now so I still need to buy a few before I get there. I thought this would 'save' me a billion solars. But if you really don't get a license then is my plan futile?

Aunt_Polly (the Empire's trading alt)started with Cinnamon (her first ship & license) and upon graduated was given her 'Legacy" & license (now Nutmeg). purchased a third license and purchased Saffron.
Resulting in three ships and only one purchased license.
(@Odlid - Can you restart the academy (or finish) after all this time has passed?)

Due to a mistake in transferring some QP I ended up receiving 66 QP I shouldn't have. You MUST have completed SEA to transfer QP, therefore in order to make this mistake right I had to complete SEA which I did 7+ months after I started playing the game. I had no problem doing this other than I had to make an Iridium Armor and a Viper Squad - I had previously quit SEA at the 'go mine something' stage.
Upon graduation I received a new ship and ship license. It now costs me ~150million solars to buy a ship license. I really had not planned on finishing SEA until ship licenses were costing 10B solars or more - that is, when a new ship license really really hurt to buy.
Buy the saddest part of this tale is that I can no longer proclaim that I'm an SEA dropout.
